HMMC

Not designed for the mainstream.

HMMC operates at the intersection of artificial intelligence, software engineering, and IT security—where standard solutions are no longer sufficient and a deep technical understanding is required. The corporate design and website were intended to reflect this very identity—with a distinctive visual language and a technical architecture that consistently upholds the company’s high standards.

No clichés, please.

Those who design technology often resort to familiar imagery: abstract networks, server rooms, or generic AI illustrations. For HMMC, this approach was too predictable.

Instead, the result is a design that draws its inspiration directly from the world of developers. Dark interfaces evoke development environments and terminals, precise typography provides clarity, and animations incorporate elements of the logo to visualize processes and data flows. In some places, deliberately playful references—such as to classic arcade games—break up the technical rigidity and give the website personality.

The photography also follows this concept. Working with a photographer, the result was not a staged business image world, but rather a documentary atmosphere. The focus is on the people behind HMMC—authentic, focused, and in their own work environments. The result is a website that doesn’t claim to be technological, but simply feels that way.

Movement with Meaning

Animations are not merely decorative elements; they are an integral part of brand communication.

They incorporate elements of the logo, visualize data flows and processes, and lend the interface a subtle sense of dynamism. In some places, they’re intentionally playful—small nods to the culture of the developer community that are meant to be discovered rather than explained. Elements reminiscent of classic arcade games deliberately provide a counterpoint to the otherwise very minimalist design.

The result is an interface that combines technological precision with a certain lightness.

Architecture as part of the philosophy

Our high standards don’t stop at design. The technical architecture also follows the same principles that HMMC applies every day for its clients.

The website is built on Drupal and runs on an AWS infrastructure. However, the CMS itself is not used for public delivery. Instead, a build process generates a standalone static version of the website, which is delivered completely separate from the content management system. Editorial and publishing remain interconnected, but the system’s attack surface is reduced to a minimum.

Design and technology thus pursue the same goal: making complexity manageable without hiding it.

A brand that embodies its values

Design, content, and technical architecture are seamlessly integrated. The visual language conveys precision and focus, the animations bring complexity to life, and the technical implementation follows the same security principles that HMMC develops for its clients.

The result is not a website that merely talks about security—but one that consistently embodies it.

Thank you very much to Regina Recht for the photo!

A hacker is someone who takes pleasure in having a deep understanding of a system's inner workings and in pushing its limits.
